Alyssa (she/her) is fuelled by connection, creativity, and flexibility. Helping others find their voice is the “why” behind her work. With a focus on exploration, play, and guided voice embodiment, Alyssa takes an individualized and creative approach to helping each person (re)connect with their voice. She blends science, artistry, and coaching to support meaningful, personalized outcomes in voice therapy, gender-affirming voice training, and singing voice rehabilitation.
Even before training as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Alyssa was actively involved in the performance voice. For many years, she taught singing lessons and performed professionally, including leading roles in musical theatre, as well as work as a pianist and back-up singer for indie rock and folk bands performing at the Junos. She earned her undergraduate degree as a classically trained soprano. She is a recipient of the FACTOR Canada Grant, the Beatrice Daviss Music Prize, and the Dr. Don Wright Scholarship in Music.
After experiencing and recovering from an autoimmune-related vocal illness associated with lupus, she developed a deep commitment to supporting others navigating challenges in voice and identity incongruence.
Pursuing a career in voice therapy as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Alyssa went on to deepen her clinical expertise in stroboscopic laryngeal evaluation and interpretation, the rehabilitation of high-level and professional singing voice, and gender-affirming voice care.

As a Voice Therapist, Alyssa is passionate about rehabilitating common and complex voice disorders, with a particular appreciation for the relationship between voice and identity.
As a Singing Voice Specialist, she supports singers in rehabilitating the voice and rediscovering ease, balance, freedom, and expression in singing.
As a Gender Affirming Voice Coach, Alyssa is a cisgender voice enthusiast with a decade of gender affirming focused experience. She has supported hundreds of clients in voice feminization, masculinization, neutralization, and affirming voice recovery following injury or surgical intervention. She also works with many trans and gender non-conforming individuals in developing an affirming singing voice.
